Tactical Tarps

Tactical Tarps Built for the Field
Tactical tarps are the backbone of any field shelter setup, whether you’re running a hide site, setting up a patrol base, or staying dry during an extended op. Made from rip-stop nylon or heavy-duty polyethylene, these shelters resist tearing under wind load and hold up through hard use. Multiple tie-down points and reinforced grommets let you rig a tight, low-profile canopy fast, even in rough terrain or low-light conditions.

Tactical Tarps Paired With the Right Gear
A tarp works best when it’s part of a complete wet-weather system. Pair yours with our Ponchos for full body coverage on the move, or rig the tarp overhead as a fixed shelter while you stay mobile underneath. Most operators carry a compact folded tarp as a backup layer in their bug-out loadout. Camo-patterned options in Woodland, MultiCam, and OD Green blend into natural environments without compromising overhead concealment.

How to Rig Tactical Tarps Effectively
Knowing how to pitch a tarp fast matters as much as the tarp itself. A-frame and lean-to configurations work well for most field conditions, while a diamond pitch sheds rain and wind from multiple directions. Always anchor with Paracords for reliable tension and adjustable ridgelines. 550 paracord gives you the strength to hold a tarp tight in gusting conditions without snapping under load or stretching overnight.

Choosing Tactical Tarps for Any Mission
Size, weight, and coating all matter when selecting your shelter solution. Lightweight silnylon tarps are ideal for fast-moving ops where pack weight is critical, while heavier coated options hold up better in sustained rain and UV exposure. Look for tarps with sealed seams and water-resistant coating rated at 3000mm or higher for serious wet-weather use. A good tactical tarp is a long-term piece of kit, not a one-season item.
